The City Clerk's Office maintains all cemetery records, voter registration records and oversees all local election practices. Special permits for transient merchants, peddlers, taxi cab operators, etc....are purchased in this office.
The City Clerk is responsible for the documentation and storage of all official records, including City Council proceedings. The City Clerk attends all City Council meetings and maintains the minutes of each, including any public notices or certified resolutions necessary.
An additional division within the City Clerk's responsibility is the Bureau of Public Information and Complaint (B.P.I.C.). This division handles citizen complaints and inquiries regarding code violations, street conditions, information on available City services, etc.
