Large Brush and Branch Collection Program:

March 31, 2008 - November 28, 2008

The City of Port Huron will be offering a Large Brush and Branch Collection Program from March 31 - November 28, 2008. This program is in addition to what is presently picked up by Waste Management’s yard waste program.

Large brush and branch piles will be picked up weekly upon phone request only.

Guidelines for the Program:

  • Stack all brush and branches neatly between the curb and sidewalk with cut ends facing the street prior to your area’s pick up day.
  • Do not intermix brush pile with other items such as leaves, grass clippings, building materials, timbers, railroad ties, or commercial contractor generated tree waste.
  • Piles must be clear from any overhead obstructions, low wires, branches, or overhangs. Keep brush pile away from fire hydrants or other stationary ground objects.

To schedule a brush and branch pick up, you must call 810-987-6000, give your name, address and phone number. (Calls will be taken 24 hours a day, 7 days a week beginning March 31, 2008).

NOTE: Changing weather conditions and large volumes may cause delays in the pickup schedule.

For questions regarding the brush and branch collection program please call the City of Port Huron Forestry Department at 810-984-9751 or hickeyt@porthuron.org .

Please be aware that if brush piles contain unacceptable items they will not be picked up.
