Please Take the Community Survey about the Five Year Consolidated Plan regarding housing issues.
Title 1 of the National Affordable Housing Act established the requirement that those States and local governments that apply for direct assistance under certain HUD programs have a Five Year Consolidated Plan in place at the time of grant application.
Your assistance in completing the survey below is an important first step in creating this planning document. Specifically, the Community Development Office is asking for information regarding housing issues or related programs that may benefit low to moderate income households during 2020 and for the next five years. As a result of the survey, the City wants to identify specific programs, number of new housing units, number of individuals that would benefit, etc. that the City may implement during the next five years. Naturally, these goals are contingent upon availability of funding sources (state and federal) however; an outline of those goals must be in place in order to even apply for many grant programs.
The time frame is compact for this project. Please complete the survey by Friday, January 24, 2020. Also enclosed is a Notice of Public Hearing to be held on Monday, January 27, 2020, where comments will be accepted in the areas of community development or housing needs for low to moderate income residents at the regularly schedule City Council Meeting at 7:00 p.m. A second public hearing will be held on Monday, February 24, 2020, to hear comments on the proposed five year plan and Annual Action Plan as a result of the survey information and any comments received by mail or at the City Council meeting.
Thank you for your time and assistance. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at 810-984-9736.
